The book contains 4 colour plates, 142 monochrome illustrations and seven line drawings depicting not some, but many aspects of Indian culture. The author has divided his work into some 20 sections like the life in ancient India, religious rituals etc. Some of the most significant emblems and symbols of religion and some guiding notions about the nature of the gods as preservers of all living creatures have also been discussed.
